The European Travel Information and Authorization System, ETIAS, is a program launched by the EU to contribute to a better and more secure travel experience. Peruvian citizens who wish to travel to Europe will have to, as of 2021, apply online for an ETIAS visa waiver.
PERUVIANS TRAVELING TO EUROPE
Citizens of Peru are now able to travel to the Schengen Zone for short periods of time without having to apply for the Schengen visa. Peruvians can stay for up to 90 days.
It must be noted that in the year 2021, Peruvians traveling to EU Schengen member countries will be expected to apply online to obtain their ETIAS visa waiver. This European visa waiver will allow them to move freely within countries.
Peruvian citizens can fill in the ETIAS application online. Peru is an ETIAS eligible country and therefore Peruvian applicants should have the following:
- A peruvian passport with a validity of 3 months upon the date of arrival
- A valid payment method such as a debit or credit card
- A current email address where they should receive their approved ETIAS visa waiver
It is crucial that when Peruvian citizens complete the ETIAS online form, they use a valid passport and payment method.
CITIZENS OF PERU AND THE ETIAS APPLICATION
The ETIAS application process is fairly simple. Peruvians should give their passport details, along with their full name, date of birth, and address. While completing the ETIAS a citizen of Peru has to add work and health info.
Peruvian travellers who wish to visit Europe are required to respond a series of security questions at the end of the ETIAS application. These questions should be answered in an honest and accurate manner. The ETIAS can be revoked if the information is proven false.
As of 2021, ETIAS travel authorization for Europe will be an obligatory migratory requirement. Peruvian citizens should apply for their european visa waiver few days prior to their trip.
TRAVELING FROM PERU TO EUROPE WITH ETIAS
The ETIAS visa waiver will be valid for three consecutive years. With an approved ETIAS Peruvian citizens can travel to Europe on multiple occasions, as long as the countries are Schengen member countries.
The ETIAS visa waiver is not available for people under 18 years of age. Minors currently do not need to apply for an ETIAS to travel to Europe.
All information provided by an citizen of Peru will be screened and compared with security databases. The ETIAS visa waiver is a measure to facilitate travel, but it also serves a security purpose.
