THE ETIAS APPLICATION FOR CITIZENS OF HONDURAS

During the ETIAS application process, Hondurans need to provide both personal and safety-related information. Citizens of Honduras will also be expected to add information about their travel plans. All questions must be answered honestly and acurately.

This is what citizens of Honduras will need to get started with their ETIAS application:

The passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from the Schengen Area

The ETIAS travel authorisation will be valid for 3 consecutive years and is directly linked to the applicant’s passport. This means that if the Honduran passport expires before the ETIAS runs out, a new ETIAS application must be made.

The ETIAS visa waiver for Honduran citizens aims to improve travel safety and ensure a high level of security.

The ETIAS application has a fee that must be paid in advance. This payment is made through a secure online system using a valid credit or debit card. The applicant is notified by email once their ETIAS request has been approved.

ETIAS REQUISITES FOR HONDURAN CITIZENS

Honduran nationals will need to complete the online ETIAS registration. The Honduran traveller will provide basic information and answer a series of personal questions.

Information required on the ETIAS application form include:

  • Full name and surname
  • Nationality
  • Date, location and country of birth
  • Residentail address
  • Contact telephone number
  • Active email address
  • Honduras passport details

Although a valid ETIAS travel authorisation grants freedom of movement within the Schengen Area, the applicant is required to indicate the Schengen country they plan to enter first.

In addition to personal and contact information, Honduran nationals will be asked a series of security-related questions, such as:

  • Information and proof of criminal record history
  • Employment history
  • Previous travel to conflict areas
  • Any previous trips made to Europe

Information provided on the ETIAS application form will be used to increase international security in the Schengen zone. Information will be cross-checked against international security databases to detect possible risks.

Once the ETIAS application fee has been paid, the application will be submitted for review. Most applications from Honduras will be processed and approved quickly.

VISIT EUROPE FROM HONDURAS WITH THE ETIAS

The ETIAS is electronically linked to the Honduras passport and verified when the passport is scanned at the border.

Further relevant documents vary depending on the traveller’s specific circumstances. Evidence of onward or return travel, or sufficient financial means could be requested.

The European visa waiver is not only obligatory for people over 18 years of age. Minors will have to apply for their own ETIAS to travel to Europe.

With ETIAS, Hondurans can visit a combination of any of the Schengen countries for a total of 90 days. Travellers do not need a separate visa waiver for each European country they wish to visit during their trip.

It’s important to note that ETIAS does not guarantee entry to the Schengen Area. The final decision lies with European border control officers.

The ETIAS is a permit for short-term stays in the Schengen Area. After 90 days, the European authorities expect you to follow the terms of your authorisation and exit the Schengen zone. You then won’t be able to re-enter the Schengen territory until 180 days have passed.

Overstaying the 90 days of your visa waiver goes directly against the terms of your ETIAS and the European immigration policies. This doesn’t only risk your ETIAS being canceled but may have more serious consequences (including affecting your chances to get a new ETIAS in the future, and even fines and detention).

If you wish to stay in Europe long-term, you should explore visa options that are intended for immigration purposes. You may do so by consulting with the embassy of the European country you intend to live in.
