This website does not belong to, nor is it affiliated with, the EU. The official website of the European Union is europa.eu.
Citizens of the Republic of Seychelles can visit European countries in the Schengen Area for short stays without a visa.
From 2026 , nationals of the Seychelles will be able to apply for ETIAS travel authorisation to go to any of the countries and territories in the Schengen Area visa-free.
ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorisation System. This electronic visa waiver for Europe will pre-screen travellers for any potential security risks and strengthen the external borders of the Schengen zone.
Seychellois citizens will need to apply for ETIAS using an online application. It only takes a few minutes and the approved ETIAS is electronically linked to their passport.
Travellers may submit an ETIAS application for Seychelloise passport holders from anywhere outside of the Schengen Area. Applicants can apply using a desktop computer, a tablet, or even their mobile phone.

An approved ETIAS visa waiver for Seychellois citizens is a multiple-entry travel authorisation which allows the holder to spend up to 90 days in the Schengen Area per stay, within every 180-day period.
ETIAS from the Seychelles is valid for up to 3 years, there is no need to apply for ETIAS authorisation before every trip to Europe.
ETIAS REQUIREMENTS FOR SEYCHELLOISE NATIONALS
These are the ETIAS visa waiver requirements for applicants from the Seychelles:
- Passport valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of departure from the Schengen Area
- Credit or debit card to pay the ETIAS fees
- Current email address to receive ETIAS status updates
Applicants with multiple passports because of dual nationality should ensure they use the same passport to complete the ETIAS application and travel to the Schengen zone. This is because the approved ETIAS for Seychellois citizens is electronically linked to one individual passport.
ETIAS expires 3 years after the date of issue, or until the associated passport expires, whichever comes first. A new ETIAS application must be submitted from outside of the Schengen zone if the traveller's passport expires during the 3-year validity of the ETIAS from the Seychelles.
APPLY FOR THE ETIAS AUTHORISATION FOR CITIZENS OF THE SEYCHELLES
To apply for the ETIAS visa waiver, Seychelloise citizens will complete an online form with passport and personal information.
The data provided on the form should include the applicant's full name, place and date of birth, nationality, current address, and passport number, among other basic information. It is also necessary to provide some travel information about the trip to Europe, including the Schengen country of first intended entry.
Applicants are also required to answer a few security questions before they can submit an ETIAS application for Seychellois citizens related to:
- Security information
- Criminal history
- Education and employment history
- Previous travel to Europe
- Previous travel to conflict areas
All of the information provided on the application is screened against European Union security databases such as SIS, VIS, Interpol, and Europol before the ETIAS can be approved.
When completing the ETIAS form, Seychelles citizens should ensure that all of the information provided is correct and matches the details of their passport. Mistakes are likely to result ETIAS processing delays.
TRAVELLING TO THE SCHENGEN AREA WITH ETIAS FROM THE SEYCHELLES
Applicants are advised to submit an ETIAS application for Seychelloise passport holders in plenty of time before the entry date to the Schengen zone.
Once it has been successfully processed, the approved ETIAS travel authorisation for Seychelles nationals is electronically linked to the applicant’s passport.
The traveller is then able to present the ETIAS-linked passport to board an aircraft or ship bound for Europe. It will also be necessary to present the passport to immigration officials at a Schengen border checkpoint to gain entry to the Schengen Area.
Travellers should be aware that an approved ETIAS for citizens of the Seychelles does not guarantee entry into the Schengen Area. The final decision fon whether to grant entry lies with border officials at the port of entry.
